Wearing: Bec & Bridge 'Bamboo' stripe tee (via StyleMilk), Alice McCall 'Celine' shorts, 3.1 Phillip Lim croc embossed Pashli (via Belinda), PeepToe 'Miss Kourtney' heels and 'Goddess Isis' necklace (warehouse sale, $49)
The easiest way to tackle the print-on-print trend is by making one of the prints a basic, like stripes. A stripe tee will complement just about anything you pair it with, creating an effortless but detailed ensemble. The more detailed the prints the simpler the garments can be, ensuring that the elements of the outfit aren't all out-weighing each other. One thing to consider when matching print with print is colour consistency; this is easy - just pick a colour out of the more detailed print and make that the colour of the stripes.
This tee from Bec & Bridge is perfect with these shorts, which are my absolute favourites from Alice McCall. The amazingly beautiful print plus the incredible shape (which often has them mistaken for a skirt), along with the cotton & silk fabrication; everything about them is seriously stunning. The bold lines in the print of the shorts tie back perfectly with the stripes of the tee, and they go together like a match made in print heaven.
This bag is my new baby. My first step into the designer bag world, and I wasn't going to take it lightly - I wanted a statement piece that could still be a staple. I found the perfect balance of both in this beauty by 3.1 Phillip Lim. The croc embossed leather is a beautiful alternative to that of the classic shark embossed Pashli, and I'm finding myself never wanting to put it down. The price for this version is slightly higher than the regular, but I believe well worth it.
The look is finished with my favourite accessories from PeepToe. The classic Miss Kourtney pumps effortlessly complete any outfit, and the rose gold necklace ties back with the stiletto of the heels. The perfect heels are the easiest way to dress up any outfit; if in doubt it's always better to over-dress! Confidence is the key to looking amazing (cliche but true) and a great pair of heels is the perfect way to feign confidence...but I never said that, right?! X
