Ikebana

Wearing: Bec & Bridge 'Ikebana' blazer, Dotti pocket tee, Vintage denim cut-off shorts, Windsor Smith 'Mara' Heels, Lack of Color 'Midnight Muse' fedora, Samantha Wills for the McGrath Foundation bracelets
Nothing says casual chic like the combination of distressed denim, an amazing blazer and a pair of luxe strappy heels. Throw in a classic fedora and you can't go wrong!

Picking and sticking to a colour theme creates continuity through your outfit. I've opted for a monochrome scheme with a denim accent, but this look would also work amazingly with a cherry red blazer and tailored shorts (anyone familiar with the blog The Native Fox will remember Jen did an incredible look like this early last year!) or any bold coloured set. Printed blazers work amazingly with a pair of simplistic shorts that allow the blazer to be the outfit's hero.

Each piece of the outfit works well together because of their varying proportions; it is a look of complimenting contrasts. The loose-fitting tee is synched in at the waist by the cut-off high-waisted shorts, and the boxy boyfriend blazer contrasts the strappy, simplistic heels. Overall the look is relaxed yet feminine, and a beautiful style for events and occasions that call for a casually chic ensemble.
