And here I go again with the matching prints (and the Bec & Bridge). What can I say - they're both things I find myself constantly drawn to, and with good reason.
If you happened to see my other [fairly] recent post detailing my love of the twin set and the matching print trend currently circulating the fashion world (here), you would know this is one style that I will be very happy to see stick around. Coordinating prints are a great way to make a statement with your outfit without having to choose "out there" silhouettes, and can still have a multitude of possibilities depending on which pieces and colour combinations you opt for. Whether you choose two pieces in the same colourway; a monochrome teamed with a coloured variation; or two complementary colourways, you can create a totally different look to suit any number of moods, events and occasions.
I'm again sporting a Bec & Bridge print from the archives, this time the 'Dahlia' print from their ever-so-colourful SS11 collection. The glimpse of waist is just enough to create a break between the two very 'loud' pieces; as is the thigh-high split in the skirt. The key with wearing a matching print is to make sure you don't over-do it; and things like cut-outs and glimpses of skin between pieces are great ways to break up the look without detracting from it's specific appeal. This particular look is fun and playful thanks to the array of bright and beautiful colours featured in the print, but similar styles in a moody monochrome print would create a chic and sophisticated overall look.
