Verticality

Wearing: 'Nautico Cami' by Bec & Bridge, skirt by Ministry of Style, mules by Tony Bianco, rings & pearl bracelet by All Stars Glitter

I love stripes, and I love any top that means I don't have to wear a bra. And I love skirts with a flare that feel fun, feminine & flirty all rolled into one neat little piece. And I still love chunky heels...even though stilettos are much more the 'in' thing these days.

If you hadn't already guessed; this is one outfit I personally can't fault at all.

There's pieces in each of our wardrobes that will remain our most highly-loved, even as seasons and styles come and go. To me, this Bec & Bridge cami is one top that has remained on high rotation in my summer wardrobe year after year, since it was released as part of their Spring 2012 collection 'The Golden Isle'.  This was by far my favourite collection the duo ever released; partly due to the fact I was interning with them while it was being designed & coming to life, and I felt super proud to have been present through the whole process. Every piece in the collection expressed something I adored, and I lived in the pieces the whole summer; I think I hardly wore anything else. This fabric is incredible - apart from the vibrancy of the colours, which I love, it is also ridiculously soft; and its a piece you want to touch (without being super creepy). I also own the shift dress in the same print, and on days where I wasn't wearing the top I was often in the dress (people who've followed me on instagram for the past few years would have seen it make appearances quite regularly!)

The first time I set eyes on this skirt by Ministry of Style, I was in love. I can't deny I love a good fluted skirt, and the panelling and stitching detail of this beauty took it to another level. Although scuba fabrics are slowly working their way back out of key trends, skirts such as this are the absolute perfect use for them, because they give the piece the body it needs to really make a statement. The understated detail of the white stitched panels is a beautiful feature that really makes this skirt special; but the simple style means it can also easily be dressed up or down depending on which top & shoes you choose to team it with. I'm excited about the concept of wearing it with my New Balance sneakers and a striped top for a sports luxe twist on the look!
