Product Review

(Yes I photographed them in a pot plant!)
L to R: Dermalogica 'Daily Microfoliant', Tony & Guy 'Cleanse' dry shampoo, Tony & Guy Classic smoothing lotion, Kosmea certified organic rose hip oil

Over the past few weeks I have been trying these hair and skin products, and am so glad to opportunity to share my review on them.

Dermalogica daily microfoliant is amazing. This is basically a make-your-own exfoliating face wash, and you control the strength. The product itself comes as a powder, which you pour from the bottle and mix with water to make your own perfect consistency. It feels amazing on the skin, and lasts so much longer because the product hasn't been watered down. I found for my skin type it works best when used every few days, but different people will have different opinions and it would also depend on how much powder you use.

I am a huge fan of dry shampoo. Having naturally curly hair I try to prolong the time between washes so I'm not putting extra stress on my hair by constantly straightening, and a good dry shampoo is such a necessary companion. This one by Tony & Guy is great; unlike some others I've tried it doesn't leave a powdery residue in my hair or any white marks. I can prolong washing by an extra two days, without my hair looking or feeling oily or over-worked.

Another must-have for me is hair smoothing cream. Fly aways and frizzy hair are always problems when you're constantly straightening, but this Tony & Guy smoothing lotion takes care of everything. I apply to wet hair straight after washing, and then let my hair dry naturally. It gives a beautiful subtle shine and leaves the hair feeling so soft and silky (cliche but true!) I also apply a small amount to my roots and ends after straightening to take care of any difficult fly aways that are still being resistant, and it adds back some of the moisture which was removed during straightening.

Finally, rose hip oil. I admit before trying this I thought it was a product only for treating scars and stretch marks, but it really is like a multi-vitamin formula for your skin, and even if you aren't trying to minimise any skin imperfections it is still an amazing product to include in your daily / weekly routine. I used it on my face, and just a few drops is enough for the whole area and instantly smooths your whole complexion and feels absolutely amazing.
