One item no wardrobe should be without is a great pair of printed pants, and I love these ones from Australian label Toi et Moi. Sydney-based designer Gill Lawrence captures the essence of Paris in every collection, and each piece is infused with a distinctly Australian style; merging the two cultures in a uniquely chic and contemporary way synonymous with the label.
These pants feature a very Parisian pastel floral print on a striking black backdrop, and are an incredibly lightweight and soft fabric (so much nicer to wear than heavy jeans when the weather warms up). Leatherette panels run down each inner leg, adding extra detail & contrast and again linking back to the label's luxurious Parisian inspiration.
These are the type of pants you can easily dress up or down, teaming with a boyfriend tee and sandals or sneakers for day and swapping to a cami and heels for night. The great thing about a pair of printed pants is that they instantly add interest to an otherwise dull outfit, and are a super easy way to lift your look without a lot of prior planning or effort.
One important thing to consider when wearing a print on such a major clothing item is to make sure it's not competing with anything else you're wearing (unless you're going for a print clash look, in which case go crazy!) Given the primarily neutral tones of this print I've chosen to pick out the main colours and base the rest of my outfit on that colour palette, but if you're wearing something brighter you may opt for neutral or monochrome pieces to complete your look. Or, you can always choose to have a super bright or bold look, it's entirely up to you.
