Ocealaris

Wearing: Bardot 'satin bra' crop, Bec & Bridge 'Ocealaris' pant (via Maximillia boutique), Windsor Smith 'Mara' heels, Lack of Color 'Midnight Muse' fedora, Samantha Wills for the McGrath Foundation bracelets

Every now and again, (like everyone) I get the urge to simplify my wardrobe to basic monochrome pieces. Not that it'll ever happen entirely - but this outfit was the result of one of those moments, and shows that monochrome definitely doesn't have to mean drab.

The chic, triangle-style of crop has become so popular since the infamous Nicole Richie in Alexander Wang shots, and for anyone on a budget this Bardot rendition is a great substitute. The black satin composition is very chic and timeless, and can be dressed up or down in a number of different ways (I also love the idea of it worn under a sheer white shirt with simple black strappy heels and leather pants or distressed denim).

Bec & Bridge were once again totally spot on with these amazing wide-leg pants from their current Summer 'Chromolux' collection. The ocealaris print is a subtle monochrome diamond pattern, and the black satin waistband is the perfect finishing touch. The shape is amazing, and I'm finding myself wearing these all the time.

This isn't the first time I've featured a Lack of Color fedora in one of my outfit posts (see the 'Miami Mint' colourway here and here) but it's the first time I've worn the 'Midnight Muse' rendition. These hats are amazing, especially considering the full-wool composition and very reasonable price points. A hat such as this is the perfect way to add detail to an outfit, without taking away from the other key elements you're wearing. They're great for casual day wear and also for events - rounding off a look and making it feel instantly complete. If you haven't yet, they're definitely a key piece to invest in for the hot summer ahead!
